The Real Mini Company Runs Reading

The Real Mini Company owner Daniel Budd is no stranger to racing but this time is using his feet instead of his trusty mini. On March 17th, Dan is taking part in the Reading Half Marathon in an attempt to raise money for the Firefighters Charity.

This is not the first time Dan has taken part in a charity run having competed in the Oxford Half Marathon in October 2012 to raise funds for Cancer Research. However, Reading is a tough course as Dan knows having also competed in the Berkshire event previously.

"It's definitely a tough course" says Dan. "The key is to stay focused and think of the good work that can be done with the money I'm raising. Then there is the crowd which always gives you that bit extra to get you round."

Speaking about the charity, Dan said "The Firefighters Charity was set up in 1943 out of a desire to help wounded firefighters and provide support for their families during World War 2. Their aim is to help members of the fire and rescue community who put their lives on the line every day to save others, whilst providing support for their families. Need I say more about why I'm running for them?"
