Assisting with a lesson in history to help ignite young minds

At The Real Mini Company, our passion for classic Minis goes beyond restoration. We believe in engaging with our local community, especially the younger generation, to instil a sense of history, appreciation, and enthusiasm for the iconic cars we work with daily.

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming the bright and eager Year 1 children from our local primary school, Abbey Wood’s Academy, to an exciting and educational demonstration on the evolution of Minis.

The visit was to assist with their history lesson as they learn about the evolution of transportation.

Here are a few things we talked about…

  • windows - slide open vs roll up and down

  • no seatbelts in the beginning

  • Mini racing

  • spare wheels - where they are stored

  • compact size and efficient design

We loved being able to share our Mini knowledge and show the children some of the cars we have onsite. They even got a demonstration of a Mini on the car lift!

We hope their visit ignited a passion for these remarkable vehicles… who knows, some may even become the next generation of car enthusiasts, restorers, and innovators.
