Along with all other Mini-Nuts in 2009 The Real Mini Company will be celebrating 50 years of Issigonis's wonderful creation, The MINI.

To mark the event and honour the great man, March 14th 2009 will see the grand opening of The Real Mini Company's new showroom.

The grand opening of the Real Mini Company's Mini-only ‘Issigonis' showroom, on New Year's day was such an enormous success that they're having an open day on 14th march. Proprietor Daniel Budd explains: I've always enjoyed our Mini workshops, but I couldn't be happier with our Issigonis showroom if I tried. At our grand opening we had loads of visitors, some from local clubs and many of them turning up in their Minis.
As we're not a million miles from Cowley, some of our neighbours used to work at the old Mini factory, saw the Minis and came along to share their stories. Many of our visitors remarked: "It's just like stepping back in time. A real period showroom, displaying what look like new Minis." "I'm going to advertise our 14th March open day in the local press, inviting anyone who worked at Cowley on the original Mini to come and join us. We'll have loads of tea, coffee, bacon rolls and parking isn't a problem.
"We'll have some great cars on display and hopefully from a business perspective we might sell a couple, but who cares, even if we don't I'm really looking forward to it!"
